The Sent date is set to the current date when a .MSG fie is rendered in the Viewer

Not A Problem
Hi,

We have a web app that uses GleamTech Document Ultimate to render document files in native format. For .MSG files (Outlook Items), we found that the Sent date is always set to the current date as opposed to the Start time when viewed in Outlook directly as seen highlighted in the screenshots below.

Would you have an suggestions on how we can resolve this issue?

Field as viewed in Outlook

Field as viewed in our web app rendered with GleamTech Document Ultimate

Thank you.

Well the date you highlighted in Outlook is not the "sent" date. Sent date means, the date when was the email sent, i.e. in as shown in "Sent Items",  not reminders or journal entry start time?

I forgot to specify that this happens only on Outlook Journal entries.

This is rendered by GleamTech Document Ultimate. If it's not the sent date, why did Document Ultimate render it as Sent date?

Also, why does this happen only for Outlook Journal but not other types?

It rendered October 4, 2024, did you check if your email has a "sent date", maybe because email is never sent and it doesn't have sent date and it uses today's date?

This date is constantly changing to the current date. If I render this file again tomorrow, that Sent date will be 10/5/2024. This tells me that the client GleamTech Document Ultimate code is doing this.  The source .MSG file is on our file store. Again, this happens only for Journal entries that we have saved as .MSG file.

Have you tried to reproduce this issue on your side?
