Plans for dynamic AD integration...
Question asked by William Simpson - 8/7/2017 at 12:52 PM

We recently purchased FileVista and I did not realize that it doesn't dynamically update from Active Directory.
So every time a new staff/employee/student account is created I have to search for and add them. This happens several times a day.
Is there any plans in the future to integrate dynamic AD account access? Otherwise I would have to daily scan for and import all users again since we are a large user based business.

Too bad. Without an automated way to import users from AD, FileVista isn't really a viable option for medium to large school districts who have large numbers of account changes.

We already have "an automated way import users from AD" feature for a long time. On the administration panel, go to Users section and click "Import Users" link.

I think you're forgetting the "automated" part of that sentence. If new, different users are added to my AD everyday, are they then AUTOMATICALLY added to Filevista so they can login without me DOING anything?

To put another way, we're looking for a scheduled (runs every hour) task that SYNCHRONIZES (adds and removes) users to FileVista with AD, requiring no visit to the administration panel.

I would prefer if we could add AD-Groups or OUs so we can just fill those groups and allow users to use FileVista through that.
