Configure Multiple volumes/paths
Question asked by William Simpson - 1/19/2017 at 7:57 AM
Answered
I am really interested in this product as a replacement for UAG. My question is that in my environment it would be for employee/student access and as such can I point to multiple servers/volumes/paths?

Our Employee and Student directories reside on different servers so needless to say path names are not all identical.

Thanks,
Bill

Hi William,
Yes, you can create different Root Folders for different servers/locations:

Root Folder 1
Points to: \\server1\share
Allow access for: Employees group only

Root Folder 2
Points to: \\server2\share
Allow access for: Students group only

So if a member of a group logins, they will only see their assigned root folder.

Thank you. So I assume a person can be a member of multiple Groups? We do have some staff who are also students.

Yes, a user can be member of multiple groups. Users and Groups work like Windows. A user which is member of both Students and Employees would see 2 root folders.
