Word File Preview Does Not Display Header/Footer When Document Content is Empty
Problem reported by Ben - 12/10/2025 at 2:55 AM
Resolved

I am writing to provide feedback regarding the current behavior of the Word file preview feature, and I hope this can be considered for a future improvement.

  • Observation: It appears that when a Word document contains only design elements like a Header and/or Footer, but no text or elements in the main body, the preview pane does not render these section elements (Header/Footer).

  • Current Functionality: The Header and Footer are correctly displayed in the preview only when the main document body contains some content.

  • Suggestion for Improvement: For better usability and consistent visual representation, it would be highly beneficial if the preview could be adjusted to always display the Header and Footer, regardless of whether the main document body is empty or not. This would allow users to quickly confirm the document's structure and template even before adding content.

Thank you for considering this enhancement.

This is now fixed with Version 7.8.5 - December 18, 2025:
  • Fixed: When converting/viewing Word Processing formats show Header/Footer even if page content is empty.
